Optical Fiber Cable Networking
Construction Projects and Delivery
This activity includes rolling out OFC within the city limits (access) and for long distances connecting cities (backbone).
Also Operations and Maintenance
The process involves the following activities:
1. Open Trenching (excavation of earth) depth as per client specification.
2. HDD trenching (Horizontal Directional Drilling process).
3. Laying of the duct – as per the specific requirement of the client.
4. Duct Proving – to ensure no blockage in the duct.
5. Testing of the OFC kept in drums – Pre-installation test.
6. Blowing of the Optical Fiber Cable into the duct by using Air Compressors.
7. Splicing/termination of the OFC at nominated junctions and in Sub-Stations as per the specification of the client.
8. Splicing & jointing of OPGW (Optical Parallel Ground Wire), after stringing of the OFC in the Towers.
9. Point to point testing of the joints with OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer).
10. Final Link Test to establish the connectivity from one end to the other end of a particular stretch.
11. Generation of various Test Reports.

Operations and Maintenance
This service includes the following activities:
1. Patrolling is aimed at preventing cable disruptions along the OFC routes daily on fixed stretch
2. Preventive and Corrective Maintenance is carried out as per defined SLA/SOW
3. All fibers are tested for the block sections and reported in agreed intervals
4. Any defects in the fiber or in any of the associated equipment is attended with the consultation of Customer at site
5. Breakdown OFC Maintenance includes 24*7 mobilization of equipment and skilled manpower for fault identification and rectification
6. O&M team has a supervisor, splicer, assistant splicer, patroller and a helper deployed as per
customer requirement.
7. A four-wheeler with a driver is available 24*7 with all the equipment (Splicing machine,
OTDR, Power Meter, Portable Genset and supporting tools)
